Garden Tour – Scudder Preserve
August 18 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Join Monmouth Conservation Foundation to tour Scudder Preserve, a beautiful 90-acre preserve adjacent to Huber Woods Park on Browns Dock Road in Navesink with diverse habitats including old growth forest, meadows, pine stands, steams, ponds, and wetlands. There are natural trails and beautiful plant life like native mountain laurel, holly, azaleas, and rhododendrons. The Scudders lovingly planted ornamental trees around the main house, such as a stunning cucumber magnolia and several tall camellias in different colors, grafted so one tree has multiple bloom colors!
MCF took ownership of the property two years ago, and are working to restore habitat and improve public access.
