18 intrepid and energetic members ventured via two ferrys for a very enlightening tour of Governor’s Island. which included a walking tour of the island led by Mollie McGinnis, the Manager of Stewardship & Sustainability. She explained the Island’s horticulture, including New York’s newest sustainable space, The Hills, and the urban farm managed by GrowNYC. After a delicious lunch at Little Eva’s, Laurie Bratone, Director of Development (of Fair Haven!), lead us on a tour of the Harbor School and the Billion Oyster Project. – Cathy Smith
